Heavy Trash Pickup Day eid# 103
All day event
Description:
Each Indianapolis household may place a maximum of two (2) items of heavy trash out for collection each month. Effective June 2010, our heavy trash pickup day is the fourth Thursday of each month.
The most common allowable heavy trash items are:
*Â Household furnishings such as couches, desks, tables, chairs,
dressers.
*Â Appliances that do not contain any Freon-gas refrigerant such as
televisions,
stoves, water heaters, water softeners. Freon-containing appliances require
   special handling.
*Â Disassembled bicycles and swing sets.
*Â Automobile/truck tires mounted on their rims/wheels.
*Â Lawnmowers, as long as they have been drained of all gas and oil.
Have more than two items of heavy trash to dispose of each month? Haul them to the Marion County Citizens' Transfer Station located at 2700 S. Belmont Ave., which is open nearly every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The cost to drop-off a safely-loaded car-load is $2.00; the cost is $5.00 for a pickup truck load. All items must be within your one vehicle - trailer loads will not be accepted.
Please be courteous to your neighbors by placing heavy trash items at your
alley only a day or two before the scheduled pickup day. This keeps our
neighborhood looking clean and minimizes the opportunity for scroungers to visit
our alleys.
